There’s a great Bed and Breakfast in West Bay, and the best thing
about it is that it’s only a minute’s walk from the quay.
It’s also a minute’s walk from a very good gastro pub, a
beautiful beach and a market place filled with covered stalls –
try the roast pork, crackling, stuffing and apple sauce rolls!
Another of the advantages of West Bay is that you avoid the congestion
of Lyme Regis in high summer. It’s just down the bay so by all
means stop off for a spot of lunch between dives. Also, it’s located
fairly centrally in Lyme Bay and therefore offers access to a wide range
of locations both in the direction of Portland and Exmouth.
Famous and very advanced dives in Lyme Bay include the Salsette
()
and the Empress of India ().
Intermediate divers could expect to dive on the St Dunstan
()
and the Moidart (),
the Bretagne ()
or the Lord Stewart ().
A fabulous dive for the novice diver is the Baygitano ()
at around 20 metres.
