Welcome to 2008 and the home page for the Aquanaut Dive Club. We are a friendly, London based scuba diving club specialised in diving UK waters. We welcome all divers from novice to technical and as we just dive as opposed to train divers, we are able to provide one of the most comprehensive dive schedules you'll find anywhere in the UK. Red Sea 28 May 2008 Everyone had a great time on the liveaboard, big thanks to Sylvia for organsing the trip. David has a number of pictures of the trip, I've put about 10 of these in the gallery here (as many as space allowed!) They are around 2-3 mb each so they'll take a minute or so to load. So, where to next year? Portland - June 14 & 15 A new location for the Club to dive from and a very obliging skipper - Thanks Ivor! We had 4 great dives with good viz and sunny weather up top too. Dived the M1 and a scenic on Saturday and the Eleanor R followed by a very successful scalloping dive on the Sunday. Dartmouth - Bank Holiday weekend. Owing to very windy weather we only managed to out to sea on the Sunday. Dived the Maine in the morning which is always a good dive, but with 15 metres of viz, it was fantastic - why can't all UK diving be like that...... Littlehampton 25-26 April Saturday was gloriously sunny for the first UK sea trip of the season, diving off Our Joy from Littlehampton. Unfortunately the good weather up top didn't help the vis. Diving the Iron Ore in the morning we had about 3 meters and on Kingsmere Rocks in the afternoon we had about 5 meters. With one long dive planned for Sunday on the Pentrych, most divers surfaced after 20 to 25 minutes as the vis was almost non existent! 2008 Dive schedule All the trips are filling up now; with the first
Littlehampton trip in April and the Plymouth trip in September both now
full up. Still some room on the other trips though. Schedule here in PDF
and html.
Please email Pete
with the trips you'd like to come along on.
Red Sea 28 May 2008 11 people have booked so far on this Red Sea
liveaboard trip. We'll be on board 'Grand Sea Serpent', one
of Tony Backhurst’s liveaboards in the southern Red Sea.
There are still some places available, if you you or a friend are
interested. Balance is due 2nd April. If you'd like to join us please
book on this trip.
Sylvia is arranging the trip, so you can also contact her here.
Pool Night 17 MarchA chance to try out new equipment or brush up on those skills at LSD’s pool in Chiswick. Vobster Quay 5 April We are meeting at Vobster Quay on Saturday 5 at 09:30 for a ‘cooling’ start of season warm up dive! Thursday 29 February Unfortunately the Hyperbaric Chamber dry dive was cancelled because of a medical emergency that required the use of it. Hopefully we will rebook it for later in the year. Video of June 2007 club dive on Persier Take a look at Rich's video here and also his site here if you
want to see more UK diving videos. Note video is quite large so takes 5-10 minutes to download.
